Tajik National Living in UAE Claims $1 Million Prize in Dubai Duty Free Lottery

Tajik National, Abduvali Akhmad Ali, is the first from his country to win $1 million in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw. His ticket, number 4226, was selected in series 413, after purchasing it online on January 16th. This is the first time a Tajik has won since the promotion started in 1999 and Ali is currently unavailable for comment.

Other Winners

Amit Saraf, a 48-year-old Indian expat, has won a Mercedes Benz S500 in the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise draw with ticket number 0115 in Series 1829. Saraf, who runs an online trading business, bought the winning ticket on January 12th while traveling to New Delhi, India. As a frequent participant in Dubai Duty Free promotions since 2016, Saraf purchased six tickets in Series 1829.

Saraf is no stranger to winning big, as he previously took home $1 million from Series 348 with ticket number 0518 on January 20, 2021. This victory prompted him to relocate from Bangalore to Dubai and launch his online trading business. He commented, “Winning in the Dubai Duty Free promotion gave me the confidence to move to Dubai and plan for my future. I firmly believe that this is one of the most legitimate promotions globally, and today, my luck has held twice.”

In other news, Yasas Nalin Pathirana, a Sri Lankan resident of Galle, won a BMW R nineT Pure motorbike in the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise draw with ticket number 0906 in Series 529. He bought the winning ticket on September 15, 2022 and is currently unavailable for comment. Since 1999, the promotion has seen 49 different nationalities win $1 million.
